AI executives are key technology leaders in companies and organizations of all sizes, across all industries, in all countries and continents. In small and medium-size businesses (SMB), top AI roles are often CIOs or CTOs. In large or enterprise organizations, AI roles are often managed by AI Directors that report to CIOs. However, in this early evolution of AI, various combined titles are common including CTO/AI/CIO/CAIO/Data. Less common, but surely growing is the title of Chief AI Officer (CAIO).
